We always need new volunteers in Scouting! But we have some specific vacancies to fill.
District Commissioner & Deputy District Commissioners
Whilst Chichester District is looking for a new District Commissioner, it is also in need of other adults who can as part of a team, provide leadership, motivation and guidance to other adult volunteers who deliver high quality programmes and activities to young people in the Chichester area.
The type of people we are looking for will not only have the right balance of skills set out in the District Commissioner role description (a copy of which can be downloaded here) but will have the strategic vision, drive and interpersonal skills to work with a wide variety of people in order to grow and develop Chichester Scouting.
Chichester District is made up of 8 Scout Groups, 4 Explorer Units, an Scout Network Unit and an Scout Active Support Unit and provides Scouting to around 600 young people aged 6 to 25. Geographically, it is an area bounded by Funtington & West Stoke in the North, Southbourne in the West, Tangmere in the East and Selsey in the South.

Assistant District Commissioner – Scouts
Chichester District is looking for a new Assistant District Commissioner – Scout, who can provide leadership, motivation and guidance to volunteers who deliver high quality programmes and activities to Scouts across the District.
The type of person we are looking for, will not only have the right balance of skills set out in the Assistant District Commissioner role descripton (a copy of which can be downloaded here) but have the vision, drive and interpersonal skills to work with a wide variety of people in order to develop Scouting within Chichester.
There are 9 Scout Troops within Chichester District, which geographically is an area bounded by Funtington & West Stoke in the North, Southbourne in the West, Tangmere in the East and Selsey in the South.

8th Chichester – Section Leader & Assistant Section Leaders – Beavers
8th Chichester Beaver Colony are looking for new Leaders and Helpers to enable Beavers the opportunity to have lots of exciting adventures and gain lots of Skills For Life. Atrebates Explorers – Assistant Section Leaders
Selsey Scout Group are a very active group, especially helping out with events in the local community. They have very keen and enthusiastic beaver colony, Cub pack and Scout troop. It was very exciting for them last year to be able to open an Explorer unit. This is something that is vital on the peninsula to give all teenagers somewhere safe and positive to go. The Explorers take part in a wide range of activities both in the Unit and with the District. To make the group more successful, They are in need of some people to come along and assist the Explorer Leader. Full training and support will be given. Westbourne – Section Leader & Assistant Section Leaders – Explorers
Westbourne Scout Group are a thriving group with a very active Beaver colony, Cub pack and Scout troop.They would love for their young people to continue their Scouting journey in Westbourne by opening an Explorer Scout unit. This is for our 14-18 year old age group. This would not only benefit young people from Westbourne , but also the surrounding areas. To enable us to do this we are looking for 2-3 enthusiastic people to take on the running of the Unit. Full training and support will be given.
